# StaccShare FAQ: Sharing, Files, Billing, and Security

> Answers to the most common questions about StaccShare — sharing, storage, accounts, plans, and how recipients access shared files.

Find quick answers to the most frequently asked questions about StaccShare below. If you can't find what you need, email us at [support@staccshare.com](mailto:support@staccshare.com).

## Sharing

<Accordion title="Do recipients need a StaccShare account?">
  No. Recipients just need a browser. They click your share link and land on a preview and download page — no sign-up, no app install, and no StaccShare account required.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Can I share with multiple people at once?">
  Yes. Share links are plain URLs — send them to as many people as you like via email, Slack, or any other channel. Everyone with the link can access the shared content. If you've set a password, they'll need that too.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="How do I know if someone has opened my share link?">
  Go to the **Shares dashboard** in the left sidebar. Each share link shows a **view count** and a **download count**, updated in real time. You can see exactly how many times a link has been opened and how many files have been downloaded.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Can I share directly from my phone?">
  Yes. The StaccShare web app is fully mobile-friendly. Open [app.staccshare.com](https://app.staccshare.com) in your phone's browser to upload files, create collections, and generate share links. Native iOS and Android apps are on the roadmap.

## Files and Storage

<Accordion title="What file types can I upload?">
  StaccShare accepts images, documents, video, audio, and archive files. Visit the **Upload** page in the app for the full supported list. Any other file type can still be uploaded and shared for download — it just won't have a browser-based preview on the share page.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Is there a file size limit?">
  File size limits depend on your plan:

  | Plan | Max file size |
  | ---- | ------------- |
  | Free | 500 MB        |
  | Pro  | 5 GB          |
  | Team | 10 GB         |

  If you regularly work with files larger than 10 GB, contact [support@staccshare.com](mailto:support@staccshare.com) to discuss options.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="What happens to my files if I cancel my plan?">
  Your files and share links are kept — you're not locked out. You'll be moved to the Free plan. If your stored data exceeds the Free plan's storage limit, you'll be prompted to delete files until you're within the limit. No files are deleted automatically.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Are my files private by default?">
  Yes. Every file you upload is private until you deliberately create a share link. Only you — and members of any workspace you belong to — can see your library. Files are never publicly accessible without a share link.
</Accordion>

## Plans and Billing

<Accordion title="Is there a free plan?">
  Yes. The Free plan gives you up to 5 GB of storage, share links with expiry up to 30 days, and access to all core StaccShare features. No credit card required to sign up.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="What's included in Pro vs Team?">
  * **Pro** adds unlimited storage, no-expiry share links, and custom branding (your logo and colours on share pages).
  * **Team** includes everything in Pro, plus workspace collaboration, multiple members, team roles, and a shared Shares dashboard.

  Visit [app.staccshare.com/pricing](https://app.staccshare.com/pricing) for the full feature comparison and up-to-date pricing.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="How do I get a receipt or invoice?">
  Go to **Settings → Billing → Invoices**. Every invoice is available to download as a PDF. Invoices are generated automatically at each billing cycle.
</Accordion>

## Security

<Accordion title="Are my files encrypted?">
  Yes. All files stored on StaccShare are encrypted at rest using **AES-256**. All data in transit — including uploads, downloads, and share link access — is encrypted using **TLS 1.3**.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Can I password-protect a share link?">
  Yes, on **Pro and Team plans**. When creating or editing a share link, enable **Password protection** in the Share dialog and set a password. Recipients will be prompted to enter the password before they can view or download the shared content.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="What happens if I delete a file — do share links break?">
  Yes, immediately. Deleting a file permanently deactivates all share links pointing to that file. Recipients who open an old link will see a "not found" page. This cannot be undone — if you need to reshare the content, re-upload the file and create a new share link.
